KATIE P. AHLES
FOUNDING PARTNER
-
Katie P. Ahles, the founding partner of Ahles Family Law, PC, has dedicated her legal career to Colorado domestic relations law since 2015. Katie's journey began with in-depth training at prestigious firms like Griffiths Law, PC and Hogan Omidi, PC, where she honed her skills and developed a profound understanding of Colorado family law.
Ms. Ahles has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2020. She presently serves on the CBA Family Law Section Executive Counsel. She is a frequent presenter for Colorado Bar Association CLE on family law topics and taught family law for three semesters along side the Honorable Laurie A. Clark as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2023 and 2024.
As an experienced litigator, Ms. Ahles excels in handling complex dissolutions of marriage involving business valuations, trust interests, deferred compensation, and high-value asset division. She advocates for her clients by seeking resolution through negotiation, mediation, and a collaborative approach whenever possible. However, when litigation is necessary, Katie is a formidable advocate in the courtroom, prepared to bring matters to trial.
Ms. Ahles’ expertise extends to high-conflict and unique allocation of parental responsibilities cases. Setting her apart from many of her colleagues, she specializes in cases involving international custody disputes, third-party/non-biological parent standing issues, LGBTQ+ family matters, grandparent’s rights, parents and children with disabilities, and domestic violence. Her dedication to promoting the best interest of children and supporting diverse families underscores her compassionate and inclusive approach to family law.
