KATIE P. AHLES

FOUNDING PARTNER

  • Katie P. Ahles, the founding partner of Ahles Family Law, PC, has dedicated her legal career to Colorado domestic relations law since 2015. Katie's journey began with in-depth training at prestigious firms like Griffiths Law, PC and Hogan Omidi, PC, where she honed her skills and developed a profound understanding of Colorado family law.

    Ms. Ahles has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2020. She is a frequent presenter on family law topics and taught family law along side the Honorable Laurie A. Clark as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law from 2023 to present.

    As an experienced litigator, Ms. Ahles excels in handling complex dissolutions of marriage involving business valuations, trust interests, deferred compensation, and high-value asset division. She advocates for her clients by seeking resolution through negotiation, mediation, and a collaborative approach whenever possible. However, when litigation is necessary, Katie is a formidable advocate in the courtroom, prepared to bring matters to trial.

    Ms. Ahles’ expertise extends to high-conflict and unique allocation of parental responsibilities cases. Setting her apart from many of her colleagues, she specializes in cases involving international custody disputes, third-party/non-biological parent standing issues, LGBTQ+ family matters, grandparent’s rights, parents and children with disabilities, and domestic violence. Her dedication to promoting the best interest of children and supporting diverse families underscores her compassionate and inclusive approach to family law.

Morgan Richardson

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

  • Morgan Richardson joined Ahles Family Law, PC, as an Associate Attorney in November 2024. Her practice includes dissolution of marriage, allocation of parental responsibilities, grandparent family time, and post-decree matters. She takes a client-centered approach, working closely with her clients to understand their families' unique needs and deliver practical, effective legal solutions.

    Ms. Richardson graduated magna cum laude from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science. She went on to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and received her Juris Doctorate in 2023.

    Before joining Ahles Family Law, PC, Ms. Richardson worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Office of Fair Housing through the agency’s prestigious fellowship program. In this role, she investigated housing discrimination claims and led community education and outreach initiatives. Ms. Richardson’s experience in public service enriches her practice, providing a deep understanding of client advocacy and helping her offer thoughtful, empathetic guidance to those navigating challenging family law issues.

Auston Palumbo

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

  • Auston Palumbo, a University of Denver Sturm College of Law 2024 graduate, joined Ahles Family Law, PC, as a law clerk in November 2024 and was promoted to associate attorney effective May 30, 2025. Mr. Palumbo’s practice includes dissolution of marriage, allocation of parental responsibilities, grandparent family time, and post-decree matters. He prefers collaboration, solution-focused approaches, and pursuing paths to resolution outside of the courtroom, including through ADR and arbitration when possible.

    Before joining the firm, Mr. Palumbo graduated cum laude from Arizona State University in 2020. In law school, Mr. Palumbo worked as a member of the low-income taxpayer clinic. In this role, he developed fundamental taxation skills while pursuing his passion for serving Colorado's modest-income population. He also worked as a law clerk at a prestigious Denver-based sports agency for over two years.

    Mr. Palumbo’s diverse experience in representing a spectrum of modest means to high-profile clients has developed his skills in solving complex problems with a creative but practical mindset catered toward the client’s needs. Further, Auston takes pride in advocating for issues involving parents and children with disabilities, LGBTQ+ family matters, and domestic violence survivors with a specific emphasis on advocacy for the children’s best interest in every case.

DANIELLE MULLANE

  • Ms. Mullane obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. Ms. Mullane transitioned from a successful career in Tech to that of a litigation paralegal in 2023. Ms. Mullane is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association.
